Image 4 - Form
In this image the use of strong, heavy, and thick vertical lines dominate the frame. The user is not allowed to view the image from left to right without the columns forcing the eye to stop and restart. The columns also tend to frame their own parts of the picture, really creating a disconnect between the background as a whole. The tree itself is basically framed and could easily stand on its own without the building in the background, but the area in between the other coloums have completely been cut off from anything that connects it to make it work on its own.
The lines themselves are strong and solid, which is visual cue from the weight and size. The one on the very right stretches nearly the entire frame, and the viewer can't even see the rest of it's width. It comes off very large for an object and stable. Even the other columns extend more than half of the frame's height. And because they are not leaning, and go straight up and down they are very stable and very static. There is no tension being caused by the columns because they do not appear to be moving. Also because of the straightness of their edges, they come off as being very stiff and solid, as opposed to being wavy and loose.
